Bet she wished she went to rehab now.

Talented maybe, but at the end of the day a dead junkie is a dead junkie. Would there be the same outpouring of cliched grief for your local jake pissing himself on the High Street? The talent just makes it worse.

Having said that I don't suppose she had to rob, beg or steal to fund her habit so I place her +1 on the junkie scale of scum.

No one loved her for being a 'junkie', it was not all she was to most who knew her or appreciated her music. Having spent some of my life working with addicts, I would hesitate to judge anyone who has become involved in the more destructive of habits. There is a background to all addictions, generalising does not address that.

Local Jake might well garner some sympathy as well as some empathy from me. Nothing about being an addict that stops a tosser being a tosser, by all accounts Winehouse was no tosser to those close to her, if you discount the emotional turmoil her addiction caused.

I wouldn't. There's always a background (read excuse) but it makes no difference to me. Weak junkie scum, rich, poor, talented or otherwise. And I'm sick of the 'illness' pish as well- that particular illness is a lifestyle choice they don't have to make.

I don't have much time for junkies.

Exactly! On Saturday there was some tufty haired knob on radio 1 saying she was one of the most influential British artists of her time.
I'd wager a years salary that had you asked him on Friday to name his top ten (or even 20!) most influential British artists of the past 15 years, old skag head, horse face wouldn't have been anywhere near it.

So you don't like her music; you just don't "get" the lauding of her talent;

I can't speak for anyone else, and can take or leave her music but saying she was a bit shit isn't particularly vicious imo.

She got the life she deserved and the death she deserved. Fame and money and an early end. She couldn't say she wasn't warned.
