Amy winehouse

I'm upset that she has passed away, an extraordinarily musically gifted young woman regardless to her personal demons. There are no reports as of yet to whether her death was drug related, her parents and close friends must be going through hell right now. I for one am going to miss her a great deal, absolutely love her music and was looking forward to her new material and seeing her live (and sober). She's left a legacy behind her and influenced other artistes, Adele for example being one of them, Duffy another.

The very press who hounded and stalked her are now the ones with all the tributes, how very fickle.

She's in a better place now.

.

Didn't Lennon reference that issue directly in The Ballad of John and Yoko?

For all the rubbish being spoken about her, she was one of the greatest talents of the last thirty years. If she had died in a car crash after her multi Grammy no one would seriously debate that.

Beautiful, soulful, witty and totally credible as a singer.

What would you prefer?

Sophie Ellis-Bextor?

RIP doll.

Agree with the comments abotu talent, there's no denying she had lots of it.

I was very, very surprised at the people who let her go on tour and probably pushed her into it to make money as she shouldn't have done it.

Some of the clips of her on stage were just awful, a real shame to see someone in such a mess trying to hold it together :(

Bet she wished she went to rehab now.

Talented maybe, but at the end of the day a dead junkie is a dead junkie. Would there be the same outpouring of cliched grief for your local jake pissing himself on the High Street? The talent just makes it worse.

Having said that I don't suppose she had to rob, beg or steal to fund her habit so I place her +1 on the junkie scale of scum.
