AMP rear brake

Got a spanking AMP frame on it's way, been doing some thinking, research and window shopping for bits meantime, noticed a slightly odd set up with the rear brake, rear seems to be for canti's (stop on seat stay) but when fitted with canti's straddle wire is pulled off centre :? , does this mean that if i fit canti's i'll need the hanger type in the pic ?, (not my bike in the pic, hope owner does'nt mind  ), as opposed to thy type with the fixed length on one side.

OR could i use V-brakes by running the outer from the cable stop on the top tube ? (i think the canti's would look neater though) , or would Maguras be ok

That's how my AMP was set up whe i first built it, brake action is actually quite good, more than can be said for the brake performance, due to the long seat stays they tend to be very spongy. I quickly added a booster, then as soon as V's came out fitted them. I now rum AMP D1's both ends.

Cheers

Gave it a bit of thought, i think i'm best to use a nice set of canti's to save having redundant stops on the frame and forks, if i find the stays flexy i'll add a booster like B3 suggested or maybe see about getting a brace fabricated like the one in the first pic 8)

Anyone know the make of cable hanger similar to the ones above that i need to look for ?

I got a couple of sets from a guy on this forum, he is in germany and cannot remember his full name "mountain....." I think, great price and speedy delivery anyone help on the id of the seller?

B3 has some donut shaped ones which look cool and are free floating like the above.

Yeah, get some of these....

you wont get away with the stradle wire being fixed to one side its gotta float but you can easierly fit v's to an amp  8) 8)

Not true. You can use the Avid tri-dangle set to the side and locked in place, you just have to adjust the spring return on each brake to compensate. The offset cable stop on my white EWR requires the same set-up as the AMP. :D HArd to see in the picture, but the drive side cable length is about an inch shorter than the non-drive. Worked fine...at least until I sold the brakes on ebay and made some crazy money! :D
