I think we should actively encourage humilliation, talking nicely isn't making the nation any thinner is it?
It's not just to prevent fat kids, it won't be long before a link is proven between the shit doled out as "snacks" and hyperactivity disorders etc.

What way did you vote SNAILTRAIL ????

And what about the kids who eat healthily, but then spend all evening and weekend on their Xstations playing games? Is that any healthier that a kid having a bag of crisps as a treat, but who is out on their bike exercising?

And ask them how is this behaviour compatible with the schools bullying policy? How many of the teachers are overweight, or smoke, or drive big cars polluting your air? I'd be doing my pieces chum - schools should stick to teaching kids knowledge, not trying to right the ills of a society that are probably quite happy with things as they are anyway.

If they'd made me stand up in front of the school to explain why I had 3 unhealthy snacks on the trot I'd say "because they taste f***ing lovely, that's why!"

Haha^

Snacks such as chocolate and whatnot are fine in moderation and stuff like that can be included as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Public humiliation is never the best teachers tool and I personally would dicuss this with the headmaster first then the school governors.

We should stand and support teachers more but doing it this way is wrong.

I had a similar issue with my son's junior school, as they opposed him riding his bike to school (with me). I asked them if they were now taking responsibility for my son's travel, in which case I would like him to be collected at 08:20 from my house by a suitably qualified person.
At that point they engaged reverse pretty rapidly...

I had a problem when my son was in primary aged 10/11 when he was cycling a road bike for cycling proficiency, they said a road bike was not safe as he would not balance on it as well as a mountain bike, what a load of crock.

Alison

i teach this as most know and am shocked...id never tell this to the kids.balance is all about looking where u are going ..not the bike u ride..
ps when they pass in my lessons the schools are very happy that they ride to school..crock indeed...

Is our country turning into a FASCIST STATE..........?

On first reading the original post, i was sure it was a wind up or leading to a joke.

Whilst i understand the need for our nations children to grow up Healthy, i think the Headmaster, and all the board of School governors, need a polite phone call, to voice your Opinion as a Concerned Parent.

If this mature approach to this CHILDISH nonsense, is not taken on board by the Head and the rest of the school Body, i would follow it up with letters, if this conduct was then still to persist, then the gloves would be off.
The next step for me would be to publicly shame the school, for a start i would use every type of avenue i could find, for example Facebook, Twitter, even standing at the school gates handing out flyers informing other parents of whats really going on, because i bet half of them havent a clue, or are too afraid to make a fuss on there own.

It only takes one Man to take the Lead, Make a stand......if all else fails use the media, phone the redtops, they would have a field day with it.

even start a petition.

Sorry Rant over, but this really has GRIPPED MY SHIT.

I didn't, knobspack

go in and take the teachers wages off him until he learns to spend them wisely.

or keep slashing his car tyres until he cycles to work.

FMJ, love the lard marketing board stuff. I still occasionally leave a pack of lard in random departments at the supermarket; just to keep them on their toes.

Teachers hate people correcting them. My daughter had her homework marked as wrong because she answered that the Earth is an elipse. Apparently it is round! It isn't of course and I wrote a polite letter expaining that if they want the kids to state the planet is round rather than flat, don't put the correct answer on the sheet and then mark it wrong.

Got a load of tripe in response basically telling me to sod off. Just wait until some homework is marked with bad grammar. Believe it or not, a teacher once marked homework with a comment along the lines of, "These examples are to obvious." It pained me even to write that.
