ai and us

Over the years i have always ignored ebay items where the seller is too lazy to write more than "for sale" or "bike", in the item description. Even if it has been something attractive because if they can't be bothered to write a couple of sentances, to sell something, then what is it going to be like when what you receive is bad!?!

Now i am doing the same with ebay artificial intelligence listings. They are sick making, gringe worthy, word salads made up from whatever flowery marketing bollox the engine has read and come across, to me, even worse than a description that just says, "bike". At least that one word description is honest and the seller actually typed it.
If humans wrote these AI descriptions, they would fall foul of the trades descriptions act:
  • Obligation to Match Description: Sellers must ensure goods match their description at the point of delivery unless explicitly agreed otherwise in the contract.
So when you're knocked off your bike by an AI controlled Self driving car (surely a massive SUV)
You'll hear a tinny voice,
not saying
"Sorry I didn't see you"
but
"Shop at Amazon,
the ideal place for bandages and antiseptic wipes,
or prosthetic limbs and wheelchairs,
and if its that serious, we can even help with a funeral plan.

You've qualified for up to 10% off, but hurry, the offer's only available until the ambulance arrives"

Ai me lad, Nothing wrong with AI.
It makes my life easier at work.
I write the lessons with AI, I set the assignments.
The student write the assignments with AI,
I then mark them with AI.

Perfection and top grades all round, apart from the idiots who try do it themselves ;-)

Surely the AI bots are just going to start arguing bullshit between themselves - like people really, just consuming all our electricity and therefore natural resources.
