Aende

Retro Newbie
Hi, Hope this is posted in the right place.

This is a photo of my Aende low profile time trial bike, its not in its original state (as you will probably see) and as far as i know its had a respray in the past i am after a bit more information about it i.e. year it was made, type of tubes used (think its Columbus tubing) and a current value.

Any information would be appreciated.

I'd like to see it turned back to its original state as it would look so much better with single ring proper cowhorn bars etc.. as with those tribars it looks so messy & top heavy TBH... Aende frames are delicious so you have a nice frame there.

Pongo never numbered his frames (taxman dodge), you have to age it by style, components and tubing :)

Everyone says his frames wasn't numbered so Pongo could con the taxman but it now turns out some of
his frames was indeed stamped on the BB two numbers which donates the year it was made.

Shaun how you getting on with the black aende frame ?

Tom ? Can I borrow the picture to put on the AENDE facebook page please ?

Re:

The only numbers on the bottom bracket are 111.
Ian i will put a photo on the Aende Facebook page , did not know there was one but have just joined.

Many thanks.

Hi Ian

Chris Marshall is going to sort it, in the meantime I have been spending some time carefully removing paint from areas that might have had an Aende decal, including the fork blades and also down the seat stays vertically where they sometimes appeared.

So far I have found 2 Reynolds fork decals but nothing else. It's really weird, the black goes all over everything including the stem and headset but every scrap of original paint seems to have gone. Tempted to saw off the stem (corroded in place) and see if there is anything original on the steerer. I just wanted to know what the original colour was before some clown stripped it and painted it black!
