Hi Mike ,

Yes I'll bring this and my other Scott mate . Which of yours do you have in mind ?

Re:

Happy , sunny weekend boys and girls ! 8)

Made a bit of progress on the build today so I thought I'd share

Took a punt on a decent-looking LX hub on eBay , in order to get a cone for my front wheel . Good punt as it turned out , as the cone looks unused :D . I haven't actually looked at the rest of it to see if it's even been built up . Such was my eagerness to get the wheel sorted out ! Looking a bit more respectable now ,

and now the rear with it's new freehub body ,

Cheers Malcolm at the Cycle Clinic
The eagle eyed among you may have also spotted some rubber hoops on those wheels . Managed to find some 1.7 Ritcheys , or more to the point they managed to find me , after I lost out on another pair due to a reply to an ad that was seconds too late  Thanks Carge , and to shinobi for helping me out with that
Got no idea what they ride like  , but I do like narrow tyres , a favourite being Panaracer Fire XCs in 1.8 .

Also been busy this afternoon doing some polishing . Clean with white spirit , 800 wet and dry paper , metal polish and plenty of elbow grease !

The cranks are nicked from the Scott Team Racing that I built up last year . Got some replacement Sugino ones in the week , from Konaman

Had to really , they're 180s , like the XT ones pictured with the mechs . 8)
Ironically , as I want to keep this bike all XT , it will have the cassette and chain from the Team Racing bike too , as the wear is pretty similar , whereas the Team will have a new chain and cassette as the chainset is in such good condition  Funny how things work out isn't it
Anyhow , here's how the bike is looking now ,

Hope you like ,

Mike

Re:

Thanks for the kind comments

The cranks didn't need much polishing to bring the shine back , as I'd polished them when I built the other Scott . It was a bit fiddly doing the mechs though . Just a saddle short of a full bikes' worth of tat now
Got my eyes peeled for a black Ritchey or a Flite . And still unsure if I can get matching bar tape .Will start the hunt now
