Retro Newbie
Just got my 1982-83 Rossin Record back from getting painted. Looks amazing. It was pretty roached and I have been slowly restoring it.

Hi

Where did you get the paint done? Did you get any re-chroming done? Cost for painting? What are your plans for the build?

Re:

Hi Richard,

The bike frame was painted at Spectrum Powder Works in Colorado Springs, CO
http://www.spectrumpowderworks.com/

They do some really nice work. My frame is a sort of candy apple red, it was powder coated and then had wet paint over top and then a clear over the decals. The paint was pricey. $500+ USD

I didn't really care as i was just looking to make it look the best it could. I picked up the bike for not a lot of money with a correct built for time period - full campy record build less the wheels, cinelli bars/stem, turbo saddle.

I did not do any chrome. The chrome stay is in good shape, the fork is not as nice, but still very presentable. You have to get pretty close to see the wear.

The build is super record, I did get record hubs and nisi countach tubular rims for the wheel build. Clement Criterium tubulars. Cinelli bars and Cinelli 1R stem, Turbo Saddle

I posted more pics on my instagram

I am writing a little about it here - http://criticalradical.com

Thanks for the info. I have been trying for over a year to make a decision as to what colour scheme I should use in my Rossin and who to do it. The USA is a little far from Northern Ireland though. The price seems good though, I have been budgeting for around £700 ($1000ish).

Thanks

Richard
