grogee Retro Guru Feb 25, 2012 #4 Perhaps that was why the old 753 frame I just bought was only £50... Haven't inspected it fully yet, a mate picked it up for me. I guess it depends on the frame but are there any areas where it will typically crack?

rusty bodie Senior Retro Guru Feedback View Feb 26, 2012 #5 yup, be careful as they tend to break around the chainstay where the chainstay bridge is brazed. i've seen 753 frames in 26.8 to 27.4 diameter depending on how old the tubing/ frame is. i wouldn't ride anything less!
