70s TT equipment question

Always open to being wrong.

I was thinking very early 70s, the seller was the daughter of the original owner and she said she remembered him having it made. I would have said that she was in her mid 40s (I hope she doesn't read this!) so that was what I was going by. Hopefully a few in the know here can help to date it. The BB is stamped 5713.

Yep, early 1970's fork rake, drilled lugs, round fork blages and MKM "Ultimate" modified rear tyrack dropouts plus period complete lack of braze on's :) Some kit has been swapped from an earlier bike though. Has someone removed a couple of cogs from the freewheel to reduce weight? Yep, we did that in the 70's too LOL

All about right so far on the kit front.

Re:

Thanks Shaun, I remember that this was a particular period and style of bike that you have knowledge of. I think the stem and bars were carried forward from another bike, probably won't touch these, I would like to change the wheels to a matching pair but am in less of a hurry for those.

The rear derailleur is going to be changed, likely for a Huret Jubilee which I think will suit this bike well, unless anyone can suggest alternatives?

Good Jubilees sell for an arm and a leg :( I've been keeping an eye out for one.......... There's one for sale on LFGSS but a bit rich for me.

Lots of us just ran with Campag Nuovo record, maybe with a bit of Black and Decker work or SABA titanium bolts.

It did cross my mind that was a modded track bike but there is space for front and rear brakes which on a short wheelbase track bike there wouldn't be.

Looking good though :)

Re:

Spotted the one on LFGSS and am awaiting a reply since last night, certainly not cheap but pretty cool. I only want the rear so will have some extra bits for the parts drawer 8)
