69 in a 50 limit, what am I going to get?

Silly me :roll: In a rush to get home, M25 on stop, so bailed through Oxford, Gloucester etc to get back to sunny Wales.
I saw him in his nice white Transit, but by then it was too late
So 69 in a 50, whats the damage? I'm hoping fixed penalty but I haven't had a speeding ticket for ages and i'd heard they had upped the fines etc?

But that's something like 40% above the limit.... it could be more.

If it's your first offence in a while you may get the option to do a speed awareness course instead of taking the points and fine..

Work out what's most economic (bearing in mind one SP30 on your licence will have no impact on your insurance).

Depends how famous or wealthy you are

seriously tho, at 40% it may be 6 points and a bigger fine.... :cry: but every case is treated differently.

i got pulled by the coppers for doing 60 in a 30, plus my driving license doesnt have my current address on it, all i got was a producer, but them im that jammy git, who got away with going through a red light, and pulled for not wearing a seatbelt

The speed awareness course Wife took (and the one I was offered) makes no appearance on the licence and there's no fine just a course cost (hers was for careless driving, mine was an SP30 (and £60 - I took the points and the fine))..

I got caught on the A470 once where overnight they put the limit down from 70 to 50 3 oo yards from a roundabout then plonked a mobile camera behind the 50 sigh (small and on a bend so you don't see it) and raked it in for a solid week catching everyone out. (i was doing 73 in a 50 then ><)

i was a few mph under the catchall fixed penalty.

Speed awareness classes are dependent on police forced - usually for the lower sped limits (40 or so) and low end naughty speeders (cos i've just got my 2nd speeding fixed penalty in 10 years )

on the plus side if your offered the speed awareness course its only death by view graph for the day instead of points on the ye old licence mate

ps, if its a stantic unmanned camera then you should contest it and they will say no chance first time but reply with "when was it calibrated last" as by law it has to be calibrated daily , you never know you might get lucky
