Ok, so KleinMadChris and I have been quite chuffed in recent months of the builds we've put together having all been the happy side of 24lb when complete.

I thought the Indy was a particularly good effort as the sum of it's parts meant a bit more than that on paper, but yet again, a 23.5lb build. happy with that. A couple of weenies have gone under this magical figure, but more than a few have appeared at this number leaving us smiling and chuffed at our efforts.

Until...

KMC noticed this week that the scales only went as high as.....

yup, 23.5lbs.

How did we not notice this? Not so much schoolboy error as not overly gifted monkey error.

thats funny!!

did you not find it odd that they were coming out at exactly the same weight!

Impressive subconcious attempt to convince yourself that your bikes are light but now the truth is out there do they suddenly feel ponderous and slow where before they felt agile and fast?

There are all sorts of legitimate tricks for lightening your bike including using a riser stem and a short steerer tube rather than a longer steerer, stem spacers and a flat stem. And trimming cable and outers super short and not using end caps. All little bits but if it worked for the British Olympic team...

Then again, gaspipe is as gaspipe does
