Hi Nob,
That was a really bad photo, that shirt is so large it fits like a lab coat, now that I know that a beer belly is aero I am feeling that I'm missing a aero advantage. This is the current state of my aero belly...
I found this aero belly on Amazon for $219 and it includes man boobs with the plus size nipple option.
This got me thinking that I need a aero butt to go with the aero belly...
I feel that all this and leopard print pantyhose under the skinsuit will work quite well.
The competition will be stunned and rendered inert.
The Fit Chronicles...
Todd Carver co-founder of Retül and head of Specialized Bicycles Human Performance has a great Time Trial fit article on British Cycling.
I have spent most of my life not knowing exactly what I'm doing while working on fairly complex stuff, bike fitting is no different.
This article is excellent because it defines what the objectives are in every step without additional B.S. that complicates and and confuses what the goals actually are.
Where I Have Screwed Up...
The selection of a short nose time trial saddle was a mistake because I made a assumption that the frame was modern enough to accept that item...
WRONG. Test fitting a old Selle Flite saddle transformed the fit and comfort of the bike.
So a new long nose saddle is needed and I decided to actually do the job right and measure my sit bones which worked out to be 110mm. This bit of information was a eye opener as AI says... AI Overview
"For 110mm sit bone width, a saddle width of 130-135mm is generally recommended."
So let's go shopping... After sorting through everyone's 130mm ish saddles from everywhere a decision was made...
A Brooks Cambium Carbon 132mm wide, 262ish grams (for comparison purposes a Selle Flite weighs 190 grams), rubber and cotton suspension saddle that should help making the hell for stiff frame more liveable.
A Brooks saddle wont be everyones first choice but in this situation I think it's a viable choice. Also it was cheap and cheerful at $89.00 as no one wanted a saddle that narrow, but I do...
In other news...
The Bob Jackson 853 Audax Club was selected as the bike to flog for training as it has full lighting and the computer is installed.
An amount of hair in certain areas is more aero than shaved. I can't remember the exact places. Might be forearms and outside of the legs.
The whole leg shaving thing is for making massage more comfy, application and removal of sticky bandages more effective and less painful, and to not have a load of hairs stuck in the road rash, together with whatever else has made its way into the wound, which aids healing and makes cleaning a little easier.
