2015 Austro-Daimler TT Carbon Limited.

I performed a windectomy on the shark tooth faring on the bottom bracket. A hair-raising job as I did not want to screw up a non replaceable part or damage the paint, this was all done by hand with the reference being a calibrated eyeball. This completes the cabling at the bottom bracket.

Oh... And new Sidi Shot 2 shoes that actually fit.

Thank you all for following along on this never ending festival of OCD.

Bit of a shame you had to canabalize the aero fin that will now add turbulence rather than smooth flow…..šŸ˜‚

Hi Nob,
I agree with you I did myself no favors by windowing that aero fin. I was in a tough spot with cable routing, even with the more flexible cable sections that were spliced in earlier, the routing didn't work.
So I did what was required to correct the the situation and archive proper routing. I'm a victim of the laws of unintended consequences.

It’s a shame but it’s where needs must & you did a nice tidy job.. if you’d had a tririg caliper you may have avoided the cutting but something to look into for the future if you manage to have or get a spare BB Fin…. šŸ¤”

After sleeping on this issue and further consideration... I had limited options due to my selection of parts early in the project. Aerodynamically this is a very dirty area with the crankset, the brake arms and shoes hanging out in the breeze. So this is a compromise that had to be made to get the cable routing right.

This is the worm's eye view of all the frontal area air sees as it passes over the assembly.

Reconfiguring this system after the initial build is not be feasible due to the high cost associated with the original construction. I am calling it as good as it could be based on the choices that were available.

Have a grand day: Mike
