@baron von greenback I bought the decals from Gil @Retrodecals and supplied them.I agree on respray but also preserving a frame as much as possible but like moonkeee says matching if not done right looks arwful so i tried to start a thread on matching paints nail varnish felt tips etc which people have found that match perfect but no ones bothered so thats half the reason people respray because of having to buy 20 samples etc looking forward to seeing the frame did you send the decals or did they supply them mate it will look nice in silver
I think the biggest problem with touch ups is the original lacquer. When that’s gone on the area your touching up you never quite get the match right.Thats what i mean now if we had a thread were someone else had done this color and you just look and go deep pearl red by halfrods for example one it would look right and 2 you wouldnt respray keep bikes as original as possible but no one bothered it seems everybody helps wirh anything but when it comes to painting colors or tecniques no one answers i phoned email a few few painters suppliers bike painters they just laugh
Agree 100%Lots of painters now do localised repairs.
This is my plan for my 96 HOT where it has a nice condition front end but many marks on the rear.
Touch ups look crappy. Just leave them
