1997 Kula size 18

Interesting build, with some pre-97 parts and a Judy XC instead of the stock colour-keyed Z2. As these are down-grades, perhaps it was originally bought as a frame.

I made the mistake a few months ago of saying these were surprisingly rare, since when I've seen several. Perhaps I should assert that 98 Kulas are rare, especially in size 17, and we'll see what happens.

better saying, that 96 Ku's and Hot's are rare, and I will be interested to see what happens -

Funnily enough, the 1995 Ku that is for sale on Seattle Craigslist (see another thread) has serial number KU064, and no TET stamp. The seller is trying to find out who built it. It seems too early for it to have been Altitude Cycles/Mountain Goat, as that operation wasn't established until 1996. But with no TET stamp, it can't have been built by Tom Teesdale, who built the 1995 Hots. As for rarity, what might 064 mean? The 64th Ku built? Or the 6th one built in 1994? (given that the 1995 bikes went on sale from late 94) Maybe Kona will tell him something (if they can remember).
