1996 Univega Alpina - Steel drop-bar/gravel project

Really pleased it's had another reincarnation! Love it. 👍 Those tyres are just the job. I loved my old 93 Univega with this chrome finish, and I know close-up this one's not perfect but I reckon it still looks brilliant nearly 30 years on. It deserves a new build thread...

My size, cost next to nothing including postage, so I couldn't resist and suddenly had ended up with a project that I really don't need. Now it's arrived, in decent nick overall, and I have to figure out what to do with it!

I'm looking at a similar project with the same frame, curios on how tall you are since I struggle with understanding how the sizing works on these ols MTB's. I'm 185 cm and have the possibility to buy a frame the same size as yours (18,5)

I'm 183cm so I think you'd most likely be ok, although probably at the tall end of what's possible with this size frame - I'm not sure about its new owner but you can see from my photos of it fully built where the saddle was at and the kind of stem reach.
