Guess the Road Section is the right place for it: I didn‘t want another bike :) , but sometimes I‘m having a look at classifieds, if there is a reasonable priced candidate for a hybrid to gravel conversion, and stumbled over this rare bird:

First owner bike and apart from the decals partially flaked off (worse on the non drive side), it seems in immaculate condition. Even the IRC Cross Country tires are still original spec.

Re:

The seller had the drops replaced with flat bars right away when he bought it at Hans Lutz shop. He also replaced the seatpost with a Nuovo Super Record, as far as I can tell. I wonder why, maybe to save a few grams. I’m also wondering about the bars, which seem to be full carbon but will see after disassembly.

So far I’ve only cleaned it a little, flushed the shifters with WD-40 to make them work again, trued the wheels a bit and replaced two of the QR rubber O-Rings.

Re:

I’m going to rebuild it with drop bars, of course. Therefor I’ve already acquired these SL-BS50-7 shifters, another luck find on the same day.

All bearings seem to be smooth, hopefully there is no surprise hiding somewhere, because the only spare part I have left is a M730 bottom bracket.

Awesome. Good memories. A 1992 TerraLiner-Carbolite was my first serious bike. I had saved a lot of money and I bought the fine bike new instead of a moped (what was what all my friends bought). It was the start of my cycling-life. The frame was the same, but it came with Syncros stem, hard core bar, bullhorns and 25.8mm seatpost. Seat was a SM Titanio. Sadly it developed creaky noises after a couple years, what wasn't strange as I used it as if it was a mountainbike. Koga warranty was excellent and they gave me a 1993 SkyRunner-Carbolite mountainbike.

Cheers Elev12K. Creaky Noises :? Maybe I should do a test ride to see if the bonding has come loose….But even if the frame should be toast, it was a bargain, so I’m not worrying too much

Do you know if standard CO² Cartridges fit in the threads of holder?

I did abuse it. I rode it very hard on mountainbike tracks, jumped with it etc. With normal use a hybrid is intended for (touring) I wouldn't worry. It didn't break. It developed noises what was enough for Koga to replace it.

I have tried Zefal cartridges with thread and they do work with the Miyata holder.
