If anyone hasn't been put off by the reply, let me know...

I can assure you, that was a very mild reply.

Seems pretty absurd to take that attitude to what I considered helpful guidance.

If you're prepared to be absurd however, and seeing as you're new to the site:


• obviously your version of "a fair bit of research" differs from mine.

• £450 is vastly too much to ask.

• Indeed, it may be possible to "...get a lot worse for the same money" but it would also be extremely easy to get a lot better for the same money.



As Makster states, we are a friendly bunch on here - but we would always expect the same courtesy be shown by newcomers.


If you can't play nice, can't accept guidance offered without getting your nose out of joint, and expect to blag fellow members with over-priced, mediocre-at-best old bikes, may I suggest you use EBaY.

OK, I admitted I was wrong about the price - can we move on now?

I may be misguided in believing that this bike is in some way desirable, but from what I could tell when I browsed the site a couple of weeks back these were being listed as if they were...and receiving positive feedback.

Apologies if I came across as being a bit defensive, but I'm just trying to sell a bike which seemed to be worth more than I thought - I didn't think I'd provoke lots of debate about it being too expensive.

I agree now that it probably is...
