1993 Merlin Mountain

First setback, the front mech has been delivered but not here. Trying to find out if it's Royal Mail screwing up or the seller pulling a fast one, he says not though.

Rear mech arrived in one piece from Hungary though.

Apparently the seller knows where the mech ended up and is sorting that out, hopefully.

Bought QR's, seat binder bolt and Royce crank bolts.

There's a Spinner fork on ebay but would need a 33mm stack headset. So that's a Chris King Gripnut of the current, premium ones. But can't see anywhere over here that sells them for some reason. So yet another wanted post, GripNut or American Classic Trilock.

Think I've found gold outer ring, Pace rather than Syncros. Would be nice to get all 3 though.

Was looking through pics of bars and the Ritchey Prolite WCS caught my eye, gold. So that's in the wanted section too.

That's it for now, waiting things to arrive and mainly keeping my eye out for fork options, handlebars and saddle.

Only thing to arrive is the Syncros post.

Found a Storika saddle, closer to decently priced than the "you've got to be joking".

The Pace gold ring didn't work out, so still after Syncros or Pace gold rings, at least the outer anyway. Not sure I'd want Middleburns, lots of chain suck stories.

Not really any closer to getting a fork, the few I have liked have really short steerers. There's still the Spinner on ebay but would really like something slightly longer or headset options are really limited. Thought about RC30's but none around by the looks of it.

No one's chimed in on a Ritchey Prolite WCS bar yet either. But, looking at the completed listing, they do to turn up and not expensive either.

If nothing gold turns up soon then that might have to wait for revision b.

Re:

They're nice, but think black stem, black bars and black levers would be too much. Probably overpriced too, last NOS ones sold for €20.
