1993 Marin headset help

Hi there, have dug out from the shed my old 1993 Marin Bobcat Trail as a project for my old man to rebuild and get him back into his workshop.

We've found a lot of the old parts, but it look like the some of the headset is missing (crown race and seal, bearings). I think its a Ritchey logic (black), so my question is can I buy any 1 1/8" threaded headset and use this for for donor parts or will I have to buy a new Ritchey logic one?

The MARIN type headsets pop up pretty regularly and quite cheap. Concerning the ball bearings you can use almost anything thats in standard 1 1/8" inches headsets. The problem might only be the correct seal ring.

Ritchey Logic was certainly on a lot of models, and as it's still in production you should be fine. It's probably easiest simply to buy a new one.

Thanks @fguki @hamster yes you may be right, think it was probably wishful thinking that I could get a matching race face and seal for the Ritchey headset that's on there at the moment.

With that said, does anyone know the headset stack height for a 21.5" 1993 Marin? (the bikes at my dads so I wouldn't be able to measure it for a month or so!)

Are you sure its a 1993? The Bobcat Trail was introduced in 1994 as far as I know.

Yes definitely 1993 - looks like this (only much worse condition, and in bits)
