...while we were desperately searching for 1 1/4" inches CHRIS KING headsets (silver), I had the idea to take simple retro XT headsets and polish them to high gloss! The shape of the cups were pretty nice and the looks of it is quite similar to the original Chris King.

I had several retro bottom brackets laying around. I decided to try out an older SHIMANO XT M737 and already mount the first part of the SHIMANO 7400-7410 group set. Works perfectly! We`ll leave it like that.

The steerer of the Sub One Fork on my brothers bike was a little more tricky. We wanted them both to be threaded, so I had to cut a 1 1/4" inches thread on it and shorten it a little. No problem with the right tools! <3 This worked out very smooth & fine. Both are now equally 1.25 inches and threaded:
