Decal on my 92 Cindercone

Anyone got any ideas? doesn't seem to be in the 92 catalogue and Gil doesn't know either, all other components are as spec and lovely too other than the tyres, seat and some questionable 'trans-x' bars with gt grips... someone please tell me that these bars aren't rubbish :-(

Also, just been offered a xc pro front mech, could anyone please tell me the diameter I need, havent got the bike with me so cant measure but am being put on the spot.

Definitely 1992 model.

Has it got the components I listed above? I have the same bike in my garage (although repainted).

1993 forks are longer..... (1992 models don't have suspensions adjusted geometry, 1993 models do).....

Yes has all the components... though my dia comp brake is on the front. Suntour xc ltd on back... trans-x handlebars though, sounds a little too man in high heels to me. These have been swapped out but think other than the perishables, everything is spec including the murray boottle cage.

btw... does yours have the race lite decal as shown?

Looking at buying a NOS front mech as an an upgrade for this... the guy says it's designed for 31.8 tubing? What are the dimensions for a 92 cindercone?

31.8 will be too big chap, you'll need a 28.6 clamp for that..

As for the race lite decal, it's not original and was probably added later..there were loads of suchlike back in the day.

I seem to have an issue with the 'dog collar' cable stay at the back... the rear brake doesnt run flush and the collar seems to be missing something. Did the 92 model have a taily looking thing attached that made the cables run flush to the back of the bike?

The dog collar doesn't have a taily thing. You just need to load one side of the cantis. They'll work fine.
