1991 Kona Cindercone Black Edition

My first try to recreate the 1991 catalogue shot of the black edition. The catalogue shot is the Explosif but I think with a couple of tweaks I can get a good likeness.

Very cool.
91 Cinder Cone was my first proper MTB. Did multiple paper rounds and Saturday jobs to save up for it. Had that 91 Kona poster on my wall! Always wanted the Brodie's and Hei Hei from that catalogue. The CC was a great buy and I still have it today.
I went for the cinder gold colour (or 'metallic pea' as some people called it!).
What size is your CC? Don't see many Kona's that large.

Nice bike...is that a recent shot? Looks in great condition after all these years!
Mine is 20 inch...the largest size I think.

Black seatpost and I hate to say it (because they dont stay black long) but black rims make all the difference in the pic.

Love this btw. I had a black Lava Dome from the same year. My first decent MTB bought from Sunset in Cardiff.

I know but the CC is original spec so I just took the photo as it was against that wall I passed today.
I also need the toeclips and the white water bottle and a Kona rear tyre...the front is still the original Equilibrium.

I may swap the seat post and the wheels for another shot, just for the photo.

In a past life I just would have photoshopped those items.
