arrived today , paid very little on ebay , it may be useless ans end up hanging on the wall which is fine but i would like to try and get it repaired .


cracked chainstay ..

any advice gratefully received .

braze it ?
weld it ?
leave it alone ?

Mig weld should do the job.

Nice and tidy though please :wink:
 
welded

got a local guy to weld it up , seems very good just worried it may not be strong enough ?

I have just recently had the same place welded on my kona, it'll be fine :D
it looks like one of the brake hangers is slightly bent, this may cause you problems with the U brake fitment/function ?
should make into a lovely steed, I really like these late eighties bikes,
