1985 Ridgeback XT

Re:

Yes if you could take some pictures that would be great thanks!

No idea where XT came from, would make an interesting thread!

Although the above sounds quite plausible!

The bars are too far gone unfortunately. It would cost too much to re-chrome them.
Luckily xxnickxx bought some the same on eBay and didn't need them so sold them to me :) they look unused!

They weren't original on the bike anyway as there was a home made shim in the steerer.

.

Wasn't there today :-(
But it often is so I'll keep an eye out

Here you go. Best I could do as I got on at a different station so had to jump off, quick snap, back on again!

Thanks very much for that!
Definately the same frame, looks to be the same colour that is under the green paint on mine. All the parts are the same except for the calipers and seatpost. It has the same bullmoose bars as mine, which doesn't fit into the specs of any of the models in the catalog. Mine has a homemade looking steel shim in the steerer so I assumed it wasn't origional.

If you do happen to be waiting at that station again, any chance of a picture of the three small stickers on the downtube and seattube please! :)

If it's a station near Manchester I'll go myself!

Would you say the colour looks reasonably accurate in the pictures? I'm going to take it in to be powdercoated this week. The downtube looks a different colour in the picture to the top tube, which would you say is the most accurate colour?

Thanks again!

Re:

Glad I jumped off :D

It's more grey than silver so perhaps down tube over top tube for colour.

It hasn't been there the last few times I've been there but I'm sure it will be again. I'm usually at that station rather than passing through so I can take lots of photos.

Bit far from Manchester I'm afraid - Brighton.

Bit too far for me to go then!

In other news the frame / forks and brake lever bodies have gone off to be powder coated. They've done bikes before so it'll be interesting to see what it comes back like.

After several nights on the computer with the train station picture above and Photoshop I decided on a colour.
It's now back, cost £45 for the frame forks and brake levers. The levers were also lacquered.
There are a few yellow marks in the powdercoat which I think is from braze on the frame? The threads were sealed, but canti bosses weren't so I have to clear those.
Very good for £45!

The arms are quite pitted so painting them will be easier than anodising.
