1985 Claud Butler Canyon Deore Deerhead XT & 600EX FINISHED

On a bit of Tangent The Hardtrack I believe is '88. I had one new in '89 after my Maverick was bent. The clue I believe is that from the factory it was supplied with Exage Mountain (bronze) hubbed wheels and Mountain was only available in 88/89 as far as I know. The rest though was Deore MT60 which was 87/88 (and maybe earlier).

Afternoon Dr C.... don’t get LGF started, I’m trying to keep him focused on component hunting!
Anyway, in other news it looks like my hunch was correct, there exsists a confirmed 1984 Holdsworth Triath Elan with a frame number H130920, (obviously 912 on from this H13000
I’ll take that as proof enough for me thank you very much

Possibly a bunch of old parts that made it onto this frame to get a line out the door quickly and cheaply and to give it a high spec for the £ (it was a little ude £300 when I got it which with Deore was epic) but like I said the wheels were Wolber AT20 on Exage Mountain M450 hubs which were an 88/89 part. The frame was a some sort of Tig Welded lugless Cromolloy (a bit of an oddity at the time where most of the traditional brits like Butlers and Raleighs were brazed and lugged Reynolds tubesets) and seemed only to be available in 21"+ (which is still too big for me).
Anyway here's mine BITD at the summit of pen-y-fan
It was later broken up for parts as it was way too big and I put the parts on a much smaller 1990 Rockhopper comp frame, which was a pretty awesome bike until it was stolen and replaced with my Anteaus. Anyway I won't post anymore about it as i'm polluting the Canyon thread.
