1960 Peugeot PX10.

Hi retro roadies, just picked up this 1960 PX10 in its original spec apart from the rear skewer which is Campag instead of Simplex. My plan is a sympathetic restoration keeping the original battle scared paint and cleaning and polishing the components. Everything is covered in a thick layer of grime which seems to have preserved the bike really well.

While I'm in retro memory mode, don't forget to check the stem for cracks where the slots have been cut for expansion.

Peugeot BP team colours were blue and yellow up to 64... then it was black & white..start of the Merckx Simpson era. Not pulled the stem yet, so will check.

That is a very lovely old Peugeot and it should clean up really nicely.

Let's not forget Pino Cerami, another great Peugeot pro rider.
Pino piloted a PX10 to victory in the 1960 Paris Roubaix.

Finally made a start on stripping down and cleaning the PX. Rear mech is a Simplex Juy 60 Record, type 2 according to Velobase, only made 1960-61 so quite rare. Thick layer of grime has protected it really well and has cleaned up nicely.
