1 1/4 Headset Bearings

The ominous cracking noise from the lower race of my '94 dale signalled the death knell to the bearings - as they're Inch and a Quarter, do I try to source a new populated bearing race, change to cartridge, or just whack in a load of free flowing bearings ?

I think I know the answer to this one, but it doesn't hurt to ask

They don't owe me anything, they're the original bearings!

stick some correct size loose bearings in and re-grease.

I agree, providing the races are good.......loose, new bearings with oodles of slimey new grease......

Thanks guys - new bearings ordered, hopefully enough of them to see me through to a time when I can cycle without needing a jetwash..
