Lepper Tourer Leather Saddle--46 Euro w/ cheap shipping to UK

This isn't time sensitive, but I thought I would just mention it, although there are probably not many leather saddle fans out there :) https://www.ebay.de/itm/303447547991?epid=24002705696&hash=item46a6e22057:g:LRwAAOSwUM5aG8-m&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId These have been selling for around 40 euro...

    Lengthening a KMC z8 chain

I switched a derailleur on a bike and need to lengthen the chain a bit. It's a KMC z8 and has lots of life left in it. Can the chain be safely lengthened using some extra z8 chain i have and one of the normal pins already on the chain? I would then use a missing link to connect it back together...

Picture of an installed Sunrace front bar end shifter?

Does anyone have a left side (front) Sunrace SLR96 (or similar, I just realized there are several models that share a similar design) barend shifter installed? I just noticed that the left and right (rear) mounting pods seem to be the same, such that the bolt holding the lever in place threads...

Club des Cent Cols membership, retro style

About a year ago, I decided I needed something to motivate my riding. I have been known to use "waiting for that part to arrive" as an excuse not to get outside, so I thought I should set some sort of goal to help me choose routes and get out on the bike. I decided to work towards Club des Cent...

1992 Corratec 2005 drop bar conversion

I’ve already posted about this bike in various places on the forum, but now here is a proper bike thread, since the bike is finally coming together. I got the bike, a 1992 Corratec 2005, in Fall 2021, from the original owner, still living in the town next to the one where he bought the bike 30...

Replacement pads for LX BR-M565 cartridges

I just ordered some Deore LX BR-M560 (edit, oops, 565!) cantilever brakes, and am hoping to find new replacement pads for the stock cartridges. I know that Kool Stop theoretically makes them, but they seem rare and hard to get. They seem to havee a 60mm long track and are a bit under 64mm in...

Bianchi, Puch, Legnano, and Nth, c. 1988

I just posted a catalog scan from 88 or 89, based on the specs, in the MTB catalog section, but it includes a lot of road bikes as well. In total, 48 pages with 45 bikes, including full specifications. Here is the thread...

Bianchi, Puch, Legnano, Nth Catalog, c. 1988 or 1989

Here are 48 pages of Bianchi, Puch, Legnano, and Nth, including road, mountain, city, and trekking from about 1988. Includes full technical specs for 45 bikes. I think the catalog is from 1988 or 1989: it includes a bike with Dura Ace 7400 (produced until 1988 ), and Ultegra 6400 (first produced...

Oh man...I think I just became a collector

I've always owned several bikes, but I have made sure they were all different: a road bike, a touring bike, a mountain bike, a communter, etc. So the "collection" was totally, objectively, utilitarian. Completely necessary. And there have always been the bikes that are passing through: to fix...

    Touching up and protecting decals

I've got some decals on a frame that are unfortunately cracking. Where they are attached, they are firmly in place, but I would like to touch them up and then somehow protect them from the elements or from me when I wash the frame. Also, because the decals cover quite a bit of each tube, they...

Is this a 1989 Marin Muirwoods?

I have a Marin frame (and a bucket full of parts ) that has been a bit of a puzzle to put a date on, I think because it has a continental Europe paint scheme, perhaps specs too, and so doesn't show up in catalogs I've found or google image searches for 1989 Marin Muirwoods. Can anyone confirm...

Pake C'Mute tourer with retro bits

This has become my commuter, year around. It's secret mission, however, is as a full touring bike for that round the world ride that ... Never mind. It's a 2009 or 2010 Pake C'Mute frame, basically a verison of the Soma Double Cross, with a nice Tange Prestige fork. I got it in 2012, but it sat...

    Adding catalog scans?

Hi, I'm new here, hence the Retro Noob tag under my name... Sorry if I just haven't found it, but is there a How To on adding catalog scans to the archives? If not, how do you do it? Thanks!
