118mm bottom bracket, what’s it for?

I found an 68 by118mm in my spares box. What group set or setups used these? I am thinking 7 speed era, but not sure if typical shimano set up with 135mm rear hub and 46 or 48 tooth outer chainring would have been ok with this. I mean 5mm difference to normal doesn’t sound much, but…..

Nice early 90s components inc Royce, Deore dx, suntour xc

I have been sadly quiet on RB since my son was diagnosed with a life changing illness last year. I've now decided that I don't have the time or space to build up an early 90s orange prestige. Besides which two bikes is enough. So here is a whole load of stuff for sale which I am no longer going...

    Mavic rim history

What dates or order were the different Mavic mtb rims available? I can recall the oxygen m6(?) the m7cd, the ma40, m261, m231 but gets a bit fuzzy after that. Was the 230 next, followed by 217, 317 and 517? What about 221/222?

Does anyone have one of these? It's hard to work out from the pics on chainreaction how low these sit. Anyone have either a pic of one fitted to a bike or a measurement of distance from the bar clamps to the guard? Thanks.

    Front mech pulley?

Hi. I am currently debating whether to fit a top pull or bottom pull mech to my clockwork. I have both options. However the frame seems to have a hole for fitting a pulley to use a bottom pull mech with the top tube routed cable, but it has no pulley. Anyone know where I might find a suitable...

my cassette maybe worn ? replacement ? Now with pics !

Hi. My bike came with a sram pg950 cassette which has been on there for about the last 4-5000 miles. My gears recently started mis-behaving ....it was if the chain was jumping up (but not like the occasional tick or jumping when you have badly adjusted mech or shifters). I thought the chain...

Fixing bracket for lock into concrete

Somewhat mundane question but I'd appreciate your thoughts .... I am trying to fix one of those security brackets for bike locks into a friends garage. The hub is fine though, as I recently cleaned and re-built it with new ball bearings and teflon...
