    1976 Crustnalgo Super - a project

How wide those old 27" tires were? Older Colnagos may have enough room for 622 30-32mm tires, but when putting the wheels on the chain stay likely gets in the way. Would be nice if Panaracer made the GravelKing Slick in 27x1" as I have one nice set of 27" wheels, but I'm not interested in...

Nicely done restoration. How did you find the braking with those Tourney brakes?

    '93 Bike-tech Toyo ('96 Stevens 7.6.2. Comp, '91 Koga Terraliner Carbolite)

Looks great. Bikes look a bit empty without any decals. I really like the 90s hybrids, but here it's hard to find larger frames or top models. This thread was really nice read. Lots of nice bikes, thanks. What happened to the Stevens? I was looking at one Stevens 7.6.2 going for auction not...

    1976 Crustnalgo Super - a project

Panaracer Paselas can be found in 27x1" or 25-630. That would equal to OD of a 29-622 tire so maybe those could fit, but probably not. Yes and no. Originally these had about 19-25mm wide 28" tubulars. You got the chrome back and the paintjob and transfers look really nice👍

Seat post size for Columbus PL tubing

Well if it's a track bike, has 27.0mm ID, has round fork blades and weights about 2200g-2300g then it should be Columbus PS. What size frame it is?

Seat post size for Columbus PL tubing

Could also be Pista Spiccato if the seat tube ID is closer to 27.0mm and the weight is similar to SP.

Columbus SLX SP decal (now with pics)???

Me neither. I suspect it's a custom sticker for the custom tubeset from Columbus used on these USA catalog "Nuova Strata"s Source:https://www.velo-pages.com/main.php?g2_itemId=68122

Columbus SLX SP decal (now with pics)???

Look into the BB shell, if there is helical reinforcement inside the chainstays then those are SLX, if the seat tube has helical reinforcements then that's also SLX and if not then SP. The fork blades could also be SP.

Seat post size for Columbus PL tubing

It's plain gauge tubing with 0.6mm wall thickness. So it should be 27.2mm, same as SL (0.6/0.9). Source: https://www.equusbicycle.com/bike/columbus/columbusoldfullcat/index.html

    Odd Benotto?

"Benotto may have commissioned several subcontractors in the late 1970s, resulting in many variations. Before Benotto began selling and exporting significantly in Italy again in the mid-to-late 1970s, relatively few frames were produced by Pela (mainly in the 1940s and early 1950s, and for the...

    Odd Benotto?

The decals look like ones used on Benotto 5000 in the mid 80s. So possibly repainted? Does it have braze-on RD cable stop? Can you meassure the seat tube ID? Pictures of the underside of BB shell.

    Odd Benotto?

If the frame weight you have given is correct then only thing the 26.4mm seatpost suggests is that it's the wrong size for the frame... I would say '77-'78 model 2500 with Columbus SL tubes. Frame size is 54cm?

    1958(?) Gitane decal questions

Really lovely Gitane! The very first version of Campagnolo 1049 with the pedal hole caps was supposedly only made for one year in '58. The Campagnolo 1039 headset with lettering propably appeared around '63 with the introduction of 1020 and Record name on hubs and other additions to move the...

When the patent text under the "neck" vanished? Yes, some older "Mexican Cinellis" with sloping crown are really close, but the lugs are not quite right(on head lugs the front cuts have smaller radius). I'm hoping that it's a real Cinelli SC. The replicas or copies are usually missing the...

No cigar? I always wanted to be a game show host. 😆 90s Finnish comedy tv show. The holes on both sides and possibly for this 50s/60s type Tunturi badge. Really hard to tell without having one to test fit.

Parts , bikes and project bikes

Not the type with the lip. Could have been 70mm, but now thinking about it, as the parts are mostly late 70s, my guess is that the bike was overhauled then and the maybe original 74mm BB and Magistroni crank was removed in favor of the square taper. Traction Avant... Always frères in the...

Georg Fischer, BB surfaces have been faced down to 68mm. I have two of those. The bike came with one. Record or Gran Sport. Have both, but maybe I'll use the Record as other parts are later 60s. Have the laurel and shield/knight crest mod. 64 bars with three knurled rings and 1A "Cinelli...

Early 60s, top model. I have not specified the tubing. Sister model had Falck stays and fork. Yes, the correct levers should be mod.61 or pre '68 301/306. Only original parts left on the bike were brake calipers and hangers, headset, FD and maybe the BB cups, but probably not(original most...

Thanks, it's a bit rough the frame, and the rear fender line is awful. Getting the right fit is always a challange. I'm about 186cm with 86-87cm inseam and this frame is 57cm c-c? Anyway I lowered the seat post a few cm from what it was in the picture. The 180deg. lever throw on the FD is too...
