Today's Ride

Pink saddle would set it off! Do you find those elite bottles leak much? Mines 750, hadn't noticed it much when just water but since doing carb mixes I've noticed the frame rapidly becoming a sticky mess.

Or if you feel like dropping a grand on some limited edition corsas...

Love those tyres. Don't think they'd enjoy the flints round here though.
I don't have a problem with the bottles leaking but I do struggle to undo the lids sometimes, which probably means I've over-tightened them.

After a week in the USA and a week recovering from Covid, I finally managed to get out for a quick shakedown ride on my Orbit Ecstasy. I had cleaned it up, replaced the forks, installed a new headset, reinstated half the canti brakes and installed some XT shifters. Forgive the uncut cables and the v-brake on the front, waiting for a fork stay for the cantis and the shakedown ride was to check everything was hunky dory before cutting cables. I think the rear brake outer at the back is a liitle long.
It was a very smooth ride and the 1.95 Crossroad tyres which came swith the bike felt OK. Bit of fettling was required on the ride due to cables stretching but it all feels very nice indeed and fits me well. IMG_4115.webp IMG_4112.webp IMG_4110.webp IMG_4108.webp IMG_4107.webp IMG_4106.webp

Nice bike, a good size, I like to see that

Spinning round Durham outskirts again, kinda bordering on the north pennines. Not massively quick, trying to keep the hr down.

Just after climbing to the aptly named area Hill Top. Tower in the back is the one from my last post, good distance away.

Just before climbing back up to the tower via Peth Bank.

Strangely that is not the worst climb even though it's near the end of the ride, for those interested drop a streetview here and follow the descent (hence the 42.9mph) and the eventual climb after... https://maps.app.goo.gl/GJAAmoE9446efNeQA

Hopefully try get a 100km/62.1 mile ride tomorrow weather permitting, winds picking up with some storm on the way and we're getting battered on the weekend.
