Finally finally finally, a sunny, near-windless day! To be honest, yesterday was also beautiful but I was on an urgent deadline; today there was a chance to get out on the bike at last instead of sitting joylessly spinning on a trainer in the shed after dark.
Headed out on a gentle road route, riding the Airborne, and took it easy for about 35km and 234m climbing. Part of the ride (a Strava segment) is a mild climb up to the local pony camp, the proprietors of which have placed encouraging signs along the way. Today's performance was hardly a PR but I stopped a couple of times on the way down again to take snaps. Managed to obscure both partially with my stellar photographic skills.
Apart from those notable moments, it was a nice, peaceful spin, with treacherous hopes raised that spring may be on the way -- which means another six weeks of bitter cold and at least one extended period of miserable rain!
