Today's Ride

Thick cloud, gentle but noticeable WSW breeze, air temperature 9 degrees, dry as a bone. Another short loop with a packed Friday ahead but as ever, any time in the saddle is a good day. With new boots on, and a clean machine, she was silent and super smooth.

Looking to St Buryan in the distance...

Late afternoon and just a couple of hours riding today. It was sunny but there was a north-easterly wind with a chill in it coming in from the North Sea, so it wasn't quite as nice as it looks in the photos. However, it was good to get out, and it was lovely out of the wind. Given the lack of time available, I headed for the sea front and made my way to Little Hampton, near Herne Bay.

Between Whitstable and Tankerton:

Little Hampton. I sat on the rocks and contemplated the waves for a few minutes, then headed back.

Mad busy 2 weeks with work roadshows so really good to be back in the saddle this morning. Steady WSW breeze, air temperature 8. High cloud, no sign of the sun (although it's come out now). I think we're running a good 3 weeks behind spring compared with the rest of the south. There's evidence everywhere, including the bluebells that are in full bloom right now in various hidden spots including this side road back up to Sancreed. I'm looking back from where I came.

Today's ride round a bit of the cove I live nearby, tried to stick primarily to fireroads the whole way there and back. Was lovely and warm, with the sun shining bright.

Days are definitely getting longer, making me a lot more keen on going for my evening rides as I don't have to worry too much about small country roads in the dark.

The water looked quite tempting I must add, I did see a fair few people out on paddle boards but none swimming, so I suppose it may still be a wee bit chilly. 20220515_185108.jpg 20220515_190040.jpg 20220515_190052.jpg 20220515_190409.jpg 20220515_190357.jpg 20220515_191525.jpg 20220515_193049.jpg 20220515_194542.jpg 20220515_185057.jpg
