I had a snipe running at just over the ton which I was appropriate due to the stuck seatpost. If it needed professionally removing, that adds £80 to the cost. I was very interested though since the larger sizes don't seem to come up that often.
The BB was a pussycat. :) Just the standard tool and my long breaker bar no heat required just put some WD40 through hole in bottom of BB bracket. If that fails my next stage is the impact driver which usually works.
Cleaned up the frame and forks, found a black Exage crankset. New spokes for the wheels came today so tomorrow is wheel rebuilding day.
Here's how it looks so far with the rusty sokes still.
I think the baron requested a switcheroo after I said I had lots of stuff to add,,,it sounds like that box is going to need to be strong!
I'll DM my address.
Cheers
If you haven't seen it already I would recommend it as a highly informative 30 minutes. The most amazing thing for me was at the end they show a dual suspension shaft-driven Pierce bike. Any guesses what year?
The museum guy is asked whether this was the first gravel bike and he gave the best...
Ha ha, this is so like me this last month! Even down to the throughput of latex gloves!
The really funny thing is that every time I slip on a pair of gloves the dog runs and hides. 😂
