Good point. It seems if the shifters are in regular use there is not a problem but being stored and not used causes issues. I tend to just use GT spray which is a lubricant and have not had any recurring problems.

I have just had to scrap a 92 Kona Fire Mountain since the BB is totally seized and the end caps have desintegrated with my efforts to remove them. It's toast and anyway it is of course worth more as parts...so parts it will become! An Exage groupset and the P2s, Velocity stem and bars, dog...

With the forks it looks like a good price but I guess you are in Canada so no good for me in UK.

OK a quick bit of eBay research shows that it is pitched about right with some a little cheaper and some much more expensive types.

You are missing a few important details, price, frame size, among other things.

I am midway through trying to free up my RX 100 shifters and they are proving more stubborn than any other shifters I have had with the same problem, and I was able to free all of them eventually. On a side note does anyone know if you can get replacement hoods for them.
