Aha - thanks for confirming - I suspect it was with 96 or 97 due to the “15 years” sticker. I’ll be sure to ask my son to lock it well and not too knock around too much.
Thinking about it though I was really after a small for him and the reach on the medium is a little far...
Snapped to up today - lovely light frame and handles and runs beautifully. I'm thinking its a 97 but not entirely sure. Came with quite a coat of dust - I suspect it had been collecting dust for quite a few years :)

A little closer towards getting the old bike up and running again.
Added some Velo Orange Casey Crazy Bars and Brooks saddle.
The geometry seems to work well but will only really be able to tell once riding...
Yeah nice frame these were the top spec'd frames from the range. Condition looks good and decals are intact :)
If you check the serial number (under side of crank) you should be able to learn what year its from.
Progress update
Thought it might be time to update this thread just for the sake of completion. Its been over a year since the last update and even thoughg the bike is not yet complete things have been moving along albeit at snail pace.
So the frame was done and purchased a second Mavic Open...
Looking to replace an old Shimano chain ring with a Sugino XD Pro Triple Chainring. Very unsure however of how compatible they are. The rear cassette is Shimano 8 speed.
Is there anything I need to know ? Thanks!
