Owning these two would be a dream come true for me,88 Marin Titanium and Dave Yates' Prototype Vulcan.
I've always wondered where the prototype Vulcan is, does Mr Yates still have it or is it somewhere in the UK forgotten about.
Mine was definitely in better nick than this one but they do clean up quite well with some effort.
I've got no luck with Team Marins, after that one was sold i found a 94 Team Marin. But when i removed the bb rust was there, some bangs on the driveside chainstay and more rust kept appearing...
That would definitely explain why it was to small for me then lol
It was one of those moments where deep down you know the bike will be to small for you but everytime you rode it you tried to kid yourself, it's not that bad really,a little cramped but workable lol because you were desperate not...
Nightmare, seller says they may post but paydays not till next week.
I've always wanted to replace my old one which was to small.
The seller says there's is a 17.5" but it looks bigger than my old bike looking at the gap between the toptube and downtube.
@JCS If you've got the Kilauea itch my suggestion would be not to go for the 93 Kilauea because of the similarities to your 92 Explosif but go for the 95 Kilauea. Apart from the gripsh#tshifters that's an amazing bike,i'd never have sold mine if it was a 19" frame instead of being an 18",thats...
There's not to much difference really, when i had that 20" frame Kilauea i done a back to back test jumping straight off the Kilauea onto the Explosif and the Explosif just feels a bit lighter and more responsive to inputs when riding because of the frame being Tange Ultimate and maybe because...
Cheers, i've adjusted the saddle position and it looks much better so the titanium post is probably staying.
I seen your 93 Cindercone thread, great bikes, the impact headset is standard on those 👍
