Raleigh Road Ace Frame and forks

Hello all, browsing again to see how good or bad a 1983 Raleigh Rapide 12 was specced, nice frame but components not so good. So I noticed the 1983 Road Ace has 'normal' rear stays, in 1984 it went fastback. 1983 Frame 1984 Frame

Hi All, what are your thoughts on Galli components? I have noticed some components are made by other companies. Which components did Galli make? This is for a different frame - not the Road Ace. Reiver

More progress this evening. This Crank set is super light. I got the nut covers in with deal. Chromed lock nuts on the brakes are a bit corroded, the rest is super clean. The rust stains are coming off gradually. No comment on the modern seat , its off my Marin. Triumph 1200...

I have found Golden Arrow cranks and brakes, they should be here soon, they look good, seem to to be fairly good in operation. I may consider Weinman levers - if I can find some decent one's. Aero AX seat post for not much money! already have the AX frame mounted changers on the bike. Wheels -...

The Dutch bike's frame does look similar for sure. Thanks for you take on Campag. I was looking at Ofmega Mistral and Suntour. I am impressed you chose Wienmann, this is what I used back in the eighties and they were very good. So Chorus is decent kit? just wow those sheriffs stars! Would I be...

Raleigh Road Ace Frame and forks

Evening all, I have decided to go with 105 Golden Arrow for the parts on my Road Ace. Fate stepped in after I had already thought about it. Golden Arrow front mech in my stash of random parts date stamp 1981 - cleaned up very nicely. Golden Arrow is sort of period and affordable. Also a very...
