1992 GT - First restoration and a lot of missing parts

Hi, Try using a section of car speedo cable inner if you can find some thin enough. At least you can put a bit of force behind it as it wont compress or deform like welding wire when drilling. Or an arc welding rod in a suitably hard grade (crack off the flux), and a bit of rigorous tappage...

Hi Jaychen, I would have have some Shimano U-brakes here somewhere, you are welcome to them. Plus a fair bit of period correct stuff for the GT. I'm in Melbourne. Pete

Infos about DBR Axis Race with Breezer dropouts

Hi, Do you mean the red/blue/silver '96, or the white/black/yellow '97 model? I own the 96 that has the Breezer dropouts, not sure about the 97. When I click your link, I get both pictures!

Damn, and damn! next two weekends are out for me. I'm seriously considering wagging off work mid-week so I can ride again, as the missus gets some sort of pleasure out of booking the weekends solid.......

    Bass guitar advice

I'm going to back up Andy R on this one. Note that Music Man have an economy line, the Sterling by Music Man range, and a soon to be released SUB range, also made by the same factory as the Sterling line, which are absolute peanuts to buy. After 20+ years in the biz, I haven't ever met a MM bass...

    I was riding today..

Sorry about that guys! Only ever ridden a bike in the snow once, and I do now recall it washed the tyres clean. I also recall it was damn hard work as the snow here rarely falls below 1000M, and the altitude does no favours to those used to living closer to sea level!

    I was riding today..

I am looking at the tyres and wondering if the bike wasn't carried into position? Then I remind myself, surely none of your lot would ride something that pristine in the snow?

I'd be up for a dawdle now that I've found out why I could ride longer than ten minutes before nearly dropping dead! And Skinny, you'de be pleased to note I'm still off the darts!! I wouldn't be able to get out until after the next couple of weekends.

Top 10 All Time Great Bike Designs

I am seeing some confusion between great design, and evolutionary dead-ends. A lot of these examples are 'men in shed' follies. Looking different is not the basis of great design
