BoTM Bike of The Month August 2025 - Blue-collar Special - now taking entries

I like this thread, it's like a walk through my school bike sheds during the early nineties 😍

    Pace RC200 F2 18"

Case in point, lovely build but not at the price point; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226925657976 Well written description apart from the ready to be ridden bit - unless you like your suspension forks without any suspension...

Sorted Feelers out for overly cut-down but 'nice' handlebars

Taperlite bar cut to 510mm any good for you? Heavily faded beneath the grips/controls, but otherwise quite presentable in a sort of grey colour.

    (Not) Hope MTB

Looks a decent quality frame, no canti bridge so V-brake only, assume post c.'95 Large diameter down tube by the looks of it S bend seat stays 🤔

    Fake Flite Titanium?

Maybe 🤷‍♂️ Original Flites had quite a small gap (in height) between the seat and the rails, but this looks like it has a larger gap more akin to the re-issue Flites on the market. Perhaps lower end '90's models had a larger gap?

    Fake Flite Titanium?

Where did you buy it from? Can't say I've seen a Flite with that cover texture before, and obviously not with non-ti rails. The underside / plastic body appears to be correct.

    Stumpjumper - What year ?

Definitely threaded in '93 - but might be 1". I have the 'FS' version but can't remember the headset size. You'll soon know once you've got it

    Stumpjumper - What year ?

Not an original fork. Black LX crank would suggest it's a '93 model - in 'Plum Burgundy' Front end of a '93 would have been threaded headset and rigid fork, but that could easily have been changed. There's a chance it could be the '94 model in the optional 'Blood Red', which had a threadless...

BoTM Bike of The Month July 2025 - The Vote

A choice of 2 from the 90's for me, need multiple votes really:LOL:

Selling up and leaving the hobby - Your failure experiences?

I think the challenge and time required to get rid of everything would actually be bigger than you may realise, unless you literally auction each item / bike with a 99p start and get what you get. My collection got bigger than I intended it to be, and still is by a bike/frame or two, so I'm...

Great news. Ebay drops seller charges!

Getting paid faster seems to have kicked in - although the money received appears to be less any postage costs until you've completed that process. Now if they could just get rid of the buyer protection fee and revert back to no costs for anyone that would be super 🤣
