    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Sorry for the very late reply. I'm afraid that's not a Dave Lloyd frame number.

    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

That's amazing. Only very occasionally do we get any background to a bike and its owner, not unless they were or became a well known rider. Thanks for posting this info.

    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Sorry for the late reply. I don't get on the site very often these days. That frame is without doubt a Dave Lloyd. If it was made in 1980 then I'm sorry I can't add any detail as my register starts in 1988. LL90238 is in the book as a road frame, made of SLX and originally ordered by Neil...

    Retrobike Touring.

Lots, but they have all been on a motorbike, so I don't think they count.

I have had a couple of frames painted by Argos and the results are always worth every penny. Plus, they are super good guys to deal with.

    1993(ish) Dave Lloyd Bees Knees

That is a rare one. I have Dave Lloyd's original register of frames and without trawling through it year by year I couldn't give you an exact number but I'd be surprised if he ever made more than a handful of Beez Neez. They were a nice idea, a very lightweight frame, but they never really...

    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Re: If that number is LL951108, which is what it looks like to me, then it is a Concept 90, but it is made from Deda Zero not 753. If the frame number is 951138, then that's another C90 in 653. In the 9511xx frame number series there are very few 753 C90's, maybe one or two, but with frame...

    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Re: Excellent. Summer is coming, so lots of opportunities to ride in the coming months. BTW, I hadn't picked up before how close the paint scheme on your bike is to my Concept 90. No wonder I liked it so much.

    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Re: midlife It looks great and the straight forks really suit it, although they probably make the steering a bit more... lively. Every DL bike I have ridden, road or mtb has the faster, Faster, FASTER.... feel about it, it's a characteristic I really like.... until the end of a ride when I'm...

    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Re: Tim, that is a REALLY rare bike as it is made for the track, rather than the road. The register lists LL961247 as a Track originally ordered by Wheels 2 You and made of Deda Zero. As the number implies, it was made in 1996. That's a very cool machine, thanks for sharing it.

    Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Re: 7784 is not a Dave Lloyd number... what that means is that Dave did not build the frame himself, but that he had it made. By the looks / style of the frame it is a late 1970's possibly early 1980's design, but it looks absolutely gorgeous, so the best thing to do is ride it and enjoy it.

    Dave Lloyd, with a difference

Re: I was supposed to be on Mull for the first week in June. It has been postponed for a year, my accommodation is still booked as is my place in the sportive, but whether we will all be free to travel again by then remains to be seen. As I'm in group 7.... I may have had the vaccine by...

    Dave Lloyd, with a difference

Re: Amazing history. It is still is a thing of beauty. I didn't ride mine at all this summer, much to my shame, I was really concentrating on fitness leading up to a cycling trip to Scotland..... which ended up being postponed until next year... so I will have to do all that work all over...

    Dave Lloyd, with a difference

Re: WOW! Is that the bike Dave Lloyd built for himself? If not it is an identical spec. other than maybe the chain wheels which were silver on the bike review I saw. Mine has exactly the same colour scheme and there was also a Concept 90 painted the same. I got mine as a frame only, so it...
