    Look amp-style suspension fork

These work really well and are very light too. Pretty sure this is the generation with cartridge bearings on the pivots, which is the one to have. You need the correct size version for your frame. @danson67 is the expert on these. Edit - looks like the brake mounts are missing though..

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Even though I use Campag pretty much exclusively on both road and MTBs I’ve always used Shimano cassettes; cheaper, wider range availability esp. for MTB use and I’ve found them to improve shifting. Requires using different hubs or changing the freehub body, and using Shiftmate adapters which is...

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

I believe they put unprecedented investment into R+D, and computer modelling (in the mid 80s) particularly with 7400, which was a landmark in shifting at least. Very subtly engineered, savvy design.

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

This mid-30s Funiculo derailleur from the very advanced Schulz bike was indexed and could handle a 40 t sprocket! Apparently it worked brilliantly. https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/site/funiculo_derailleurs.html

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Yep, and Shimano were nowhere near the first to come up with indexed shifting. Suntour offered it in the late 60s and it was found on the odd few systems in the early 20th C.

    What Happened to Campagnolo?

Campag made quick releases for Royce back in the ‘80s. Seems surprising as they were sort-of competitors at the time with their very similar hubs and chainset’s. Royce had a slight edge with finer finishing and precision, but the skewers are identical quality.

    Holy Grail XTR Part!?!?

That’s pretty amazing (and hilarious). I remember seeing a photo of some XTR thumbshifters. They were nicely shaped and finished in M900 ‘titanium’. This was in the early 90s before photoshop. Of course no one believes they ever existed in any form, but apparently I’m not the only one to have...

Pretty amazing to hear kids attempt this. (Just as shocking that they’ll be approaching early middle-age by now!) 😳 Great effort from the lad on guitar!
