    I had thought about that - but my understanding is that after they were machined, they were then heat treated / annealed prior to annodising (but not totally sure about that), I would be nervous about building up the mounts with weld and reforming them - but it has certainly crossed my mind...

    That is good thinking. It was actually Rory who initially boxed up and sent me the fork from Petworth all those years ago, when he fully had his feet fully under the desk at USE. I have contacted him occasionally over the years for the odd thing. Let me see if I can do that one further...

    Any Shimano XTR M965 hub / freehub parts / bits and pieces
