The more I look at it, I think it's probably a stickered up CMP (Lyon) who I think were quite a few years ahead of Vitus when it came to bonded aluminium. Here's a few pics of a CMP to compare. I nearly bought a Comete a few years ago, just as a curiosity!

My wife is not really that keen, but my nephew is desperate to go cycling. He's got very poor eyesight and needs a stick to walk with. He's an excellent runner, so maybe this could be a start for tandem racing, which is apparently pretty popular round here on the track with sighted pilots.

RGF brackets and Nervex lugs were also a very common feature on French quality frames from 1940s-1970s.
