    Does Tha Ride Tandem?

I don't have any storage problems. I've been lucky enough to rent an underground storage of about 120sq m with good enough security. I have made a decent size workshop down there, and I've e still got space for 50+ complete bikes, so storing it safely not a problem. . Bonus ball - it's 18m...

    Does Tha Ride Tandem?

Just out of interest. What's the stopping distance of your tandem with two people onboard from 50mph?

    Does Tha Ride Tandem?

Yes I've seen a tandem pair rev it up on the flat, even on a level surface they were soon ticking along at 40mph.. I can imagine on a long descent braking would produce a LOT of heat, the rear wheel if this tandem is fitted with a very effective (so it's said) Maxicar drum brake hub. I'll...

    Mystery Frame

I'm pretty firm on a British bike - there's not a single piece of french equipment on it, and the headset looks a standard Shimano 105, again likely British threaded. It does have the look of a few Flying Scots I've seen (and owned), here's an A registered (1951) Flying Scot with very similar...

    Does Tha Ride Tandem?

Have spoken a few times to the owner of this lovely latte 1940s Barra aluminium brazed tandem and we've come to an agreement on a reasonable price. A few questions for tandem owners though: 1. Do you use it often, or is it only a 'special occasion' bike? 2. Would it go in the back of a Volvo 7...

    Mystery Frame

RGF brackets and Nervex lugs were also a very common feature on French quality frames from 1940s-1970s.

    Mystery Frame

Having a look at the seat stay caps and the RGF bracket, it does put me in mind of a quality Raleigh from the 1970s (Raleigh used these caps and the brackets on a number of models), which has perhaps been modified later on with braze on additions. Heres the seat stay cap from an Raleigh road...

    Mystery Frame

It's a nice quality frame, RGF well known investment cast bottom bracket. Identifying a frame without decals/badge or a relatively standard serial number is a challenge. But not impossible 😵😎 Our local dump gives bikes away (they've got an open back van goes round the town once a week...

    Cinelli identify: not an SC

The fork crown/seat lug arrangement and drop outs are not manufactured by cinelli! That's the slightly modified Contini logo - which looks pretty much like Cinelli! They cast these parts themselves. Here's the head badge, as you can see it's a blatant rip off - chapeau to Contini!

    Cinelli identify: not an SC

Here's a lovely Carrera Gold by Contini, I've no idea how they got away with the copyright infringement on Cinelli (it's not as if they were using Cinelli lugs or fork crowns) but they did make some lovely frames.

Bonded 1980s Peugeot oddity; Alu or Carbon

This is a rare find, I think! Seller says it's aluminium, but all the Peugeot I know from this era are Vitus 979 style. This is much more like the PY10 FC as ridden by Robert Millar. Weird....!
