@ratcapa
This is the only one of the collection I haven't actually seen in the metal....so looking forward to the next Retro ride out. Glad I could help towards a fantastic build with the wheels. The black wall ritcheys are just right 👌🏻
The Salsa is outstanding as always too - and a rider...
@stocko
Sorry mate - I've derailled your thread at bit here.
Hopefully we'll get some pics of the 'O' s together at the Malverns.
@baron von greenback
Here you go....note the later decals. Last of line - probably done to clear the final "O"s (pic shamelessly borrowed from here 😂)
The elite was...
Yeah. The frame number is A9102015.
Basically, that's the 1st Gen Aluminum 'O' (it's original colour was the matt silver)
Frame number 15 is the lowest number I know of on here so far, which makes it the earliest production Aluminum 'O' ( I used to own frame #20 which was also a 17" in matt...
Looking forward to seeing this at the Malverns.
Planning on bringing/riding my 'O' too. Think @Tomac23 may be riding an 'O' too?
Took mine on a 30 mile O/R ride out last weekend - just to check all was tight for the event. Loved it.
Frame #15 Gen 1 with Manitou 1's.
Cheers

Yeah. There were a few that 'got it' and appreciated the retro. As it was a 'cars' event - most saw it as I'd accessoried the car with a period touch. I can see it being the other way round at the Malverns with the 2 bikes being the main attraction and the Saab as the period accessory.

Every year at my work place we run a Cars, Coffee and cake event to showcase employees passion for cars and raise some money for Charity at the same time.
This year was no exception - a great turnout, excellent weather all raising money for Birmingham Children's hospital.
I chose to take the...
@baron von greenback
No problems. I've no idea on price - I paid £30 for mine all those years back but drove from Essex to Birmingham to pick it up as the owner was ready to skip it as he saw it a scrap if it hadn't sold on eBay.
@brocklanders023 - you've probably got a better idea of current...
So
A2 = 1992
04 = April
0139 = production number
Must be one of the earlier ones known here.
My Elite - sadly long gone. Same A204 serial number, so from same batch. Definitely 1 1/4"
Cheers

The Aluminum "O" and Aluminum Elite were all 1 1/4" headset / fork / stem from 1991 - 1993
1991. Just the Aluminum"O" - no Elite yet.
1992. The Aluminum Elite introduced. The Aluminum 'O' and Elite co exist together for 1992
The Elite appears in the 1993/94 Catalogue.
The Aluminum"O"...
If you could find one - a Chris King Devolution headset would be perfect. This fits the 1 1/4" head tube but allows you to use 1 1/8" threaded steerer forks. Your quill stem would also be a 1 1/8" size.
A 1 1/4" quill stem won't fit into a 1 1/8" steerer because of the internal diameter...
.....and the Aluminum 'O'
Aluminum 'O' 1991 - 93
Aluminum Elite 1992 - 94
1992 One year crossover when both models available. All years "O" and Elite are 1 1/4" headsets. They didn't come in any other size.
Size abandoned in favour of 1 1/8" for the E2 - E8 models that followed. None of the...
@Once A Hero
Hopefully this will encourage you!

Congrats to @Canuckbiker. Another good line-up for April's BOTM.
@Once A Hero - I know how you feel! So close, quite a few times but destined to be the bridesmaid.
Interestingly......3 Brodie's won respective BOTM's last year, making up 25% of the end of year BOTY voting...
