Nevr Dull sounds like what we used to call Brasso, right? I haven't seen that for some time now.
Also, I have a San Marco Regal saddle on my Pantera and a Viscount branded saddle on my Bravado, they're obviously variantions on the same design.
yes, the rivetted saddle came as part of the deal with the frame+forks from @raidan73, I think those saddles are quite comfy as I have an original rivetted saddle on my 1991 Avalanche too. They certainly age well!
Thank you, I did start using a polish attachment for my drill but wasn't too impressed with the result, so I ended up polishing by hand, using microfibre cloths and Autosol.
Quite satisfying job to do, really. 😁
I may do the same to my '98 GT Tempest next!
Just a quick update, finished polishing the frame today, as it was raining all day it was a great opportunity to do this job.
It's not a super mirror finish, but I like the way it looks now. I have added an older photo for comparison. 😁
Sorry, the floor is a bit messy, will be cleaning this...
Though it is technically a mid 90' frame, but my Mongoose Pro SX (Ritchey tubing) was a great frame and rode nicely too.
I ride both steel and aluminium GT bikes, but I prefer the way their steel bikes ride.
This Zaskar will be my 4th GT with a U brake, I have a soft spot for them 😁 . Couldn't really pass up an opportunity to own an early 90's Zaskar with U brake.
I did own 3 GT's with U brakes previously, so I am quite familiar with them. They can be very powerful when set up correctly!
This is a 1991 Zaskar frame. It is in a nice condition for it's age and look forward to building it up. The cable guide couldn't be removed as the nut is stuck to the screw and I didn't want to damage the guide. So it will remain in place unless I can find a replacement.
As promised I have a few photos to add of the progress now that the frame has had the decals removed.
It is a slow project as I am not in a rush this time. However now that I have made a start feel I can move on a bit more.;)
I initially started polishing with Autosol, as I already had this in...
