I should really have done this job sooner, but money was a bit tight after spending so much on general stuff besides buying the parts for this project.
Not to forget my daughter who was rather poorly a couple of months ago, she's doing much better now though so that is one less thing to worry...
Can you recommend any good places around Sheffield for future reference?
I don't have access to a car though.
I'd rather spend that money on nice bikes like mine, haha
Spent a little time today applying the decals to the frame, With thanks to @Gil for supplying the decals! 😁
Looking a lot better now.
Still waiting for an opportunity to repaint the forks...
The first two attempts weren't great, so hopefully the third time will be better.
It is sunny but cold...
Tequesta's were still around until '99 as I had one of that year. This frame looks similar to my Tequesta. The Timberline of that period was made with mostly plain gauge 4130 (possibly a butted seat tube) tubes where as the Tequesta/Karakoram were the same frame with Reynolds 525 double butted...
That looks like a great comfy ride, a nicely done build on a classic GT frame.
And those Topline cranks brought back some memories from my 1993 Zaskar build, they were red anodised and really looked the part on my Zaskar! I wish I could find some Toplines again....
The Richter 8.0 model actually sat below the Avalanche for both '92 and '93 so I wouldn't think it will fetch much more than either the Avalanche and Bravado models of those years. I was also a bit confused about the line up in the GT catalogues because it was listed in the spec sheets between...
Yes, the Psyclone of that period shares the same tubeset but was obviously fillet brazed, but I would expect it to have the same ride characteristics as the Bravado of the same year. both the '92 and '93 models share the same GTX Ultra III (Which I believe was GT's custom tube sets similar to...
The Bravado was made from 1992 to 1998, maybe '99, ( I haven't seem any catalogues from after '98, so can't confirm the existence of the Bravado after '98).
It does look very nice, but it makes me appreciate mine a bit more as it is still the original paint work. I was toying with the idea of getting new decals for it but I'll keep it as it is because it is still original with it's little marks of use. It is a 33 year old bike after all but at a...
